i see francis and arthur as that couple that does sweet stuff like cuddle for a movie. but like also that same couple that will casually discuss how many times they’ve killed each other in the past and freak out their bosses. (’oh my, remember Waterloo?’ ‘yes, frog- hard to forget when I got your brains all over my coat.’). they’re the kinds of people who would spend their free time on romantic dinners but also do shit like duel with medieval weapons (’Reliving old times!’). like. they’re a thousand years of human memories, of ups and downs, innumerable beginning and ends, a paradox embodying both change and continuity wearing human form. they’re so incredibly human but yet undeniably inhuman.
